St. Isidore Community Hall

Completion: 2014
Size: ± 800 sq.m.
Location: St. Isidore, Alberta

The Cultural Center in St. Isidore was a multi-functional building, housing a library, seniors room, gymnasium, weavers room, lounge, kitchen and fire hall. The 30 plus year old structure was in need of an upgrade to modernize the facility and meet the growing needs of the community.

A new fire hall was constructed on a nearby site and a portion of the roof was lifted allowing for a two storey space to develop for the local School Board office. The entire interior was re-modeled with modern fixtures and finishes. An 8,700 square foot addition was constructed, wrapping around a portion of the existing building to provide space for an expanded library, a new museum and kitchen facility, as well as incorporate a visually stunning entry foyer which ties all the various areas of the building together.

Multiple user groups were consulted during design and construction to ensure that the various needs of this diverse facility were met.

Mechanical and Electrical upgrades were applied to create a modern, efficient structure that melds with the original aesthetic of the building and fits within the framework of the community which it serves.
