Grande Prairie Regional Hospital Parkade

Completion: 2019
Size: ± 455,000 sq.ft.
Location: Grande Prairie, Alberta

The Grande Prairie Regional Hospital Parkade was a separate project from the main hospital building. The parkade consisted of 5 storeys of parking garage, at over 90,000 square feet per floor, with the capacity to expand a further two storeys in the future. The building is primarily composed of pre-cast concrete clad and clad in composite metal panel in some feature areas. The building encompasses over 400 public parking stalls, as well as over 600 staff parking stalls. This parkade is connected to the main hospital building via a second floor pedway, allowing pedestrians an enclosed, heated experience to walk over to the main building. The pedway consists of steel structure and primarily glass walls for great visibility. There are security offices located within the main floor as this facility will be run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The entire structure is brightly lit and open to the exterior so that all spaces feel open and have good exterior views.
