Friedenstal Hall

Year: 2011
Location: Fairview, Alberta

This 6550 ft2 hall has a Quiet Room, Kitchen, Bar, Stage and a 2433 ft2 open multi use area. Also incorporated into the design was an Archives Room for the storage and display of artifacts from an old church still standing on the site.

High R-value structurally insulated panels were used to create a highly efficient building envelope that along with an in-floor heating system dramatically reduced heating costs. The panels also allowed for spacious vaulted ceilings throughout the building and the exposure of the Parallam structural wood elements which add a unique character and texture to the interior spaces.

Future expansion of the site to include RV stalls and camping sites was planned so the building was also designed to include a separate entrance to the washrooms and shower rooms for campers to use these facilities.
